On September 19, 2025, the House of Representatives approved a Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep the federal government operational through November 21. The measure was sent to the Senate on the same day — but political opposition has blocked it. Sixty votes are needed for passage, and as of October 22, only fifty-four senators support it (all but one Republican and two Democrats).
Another government shutdown looms — not because there’s no plan, but because Washington prioritizes politics over the Nation’s best interest.
What can you do?
📞 Contact your U.S. Senator today and urge them to vote in favor of passing the CR. America needs a functioning government, not more grandstanding.
Shutdowns harm ordinary citizens—federal workers, families, and local economies—while politicians exploit them for leverage. The CR isn’t a perfect solution, but it’s a necessary bridge that keeps essential services running while Congress does its work.
We need to debate long-term fiscal reform — and we must — but the immediate task is to keep the government open.
