Ohio’s Medicaid Money Machine: Billions in Waste, Fraud, and Who’s Accountable?
According to a Daily Wire investigation, Ohio’s Medicaid system may have allowed billions in waste, abuse, and potential fraud through “home health” and “personal services” programs—where taxpayers fund relatives to provide companionship, cooking, cleaning, and household help for family members, often with minimal oversight.
Let that sink in.
Taxpayer-funded “companionship and conversation.”
Apparently, in Ohio, family dinner may now qualify as a government-funded employment program.
Now the questions for Mike DeWine and state leadership are simple:
1. How did this happen?
2. How do you ensure it never happens again?
3. Who is being held accountable?
Not a press conference.
Not a committee.
Not another polished government statement about “reviewing the process.”
Actual accountability.
Because if this was fraud—prosecute it. If it was negligence—fire people. If leadership ignored obvious red flags—they should resign.
That’s not extreme. That’s accountability.
And let’s be honest: it’s embarrassing that investigative journalists from The Daily Wire had to dig through the numbers to expose what government oversight somehow failed to catch.
Amazing how ordinary taxpayers can smell smoke, yet the people paid to watch the building report “everything looks fine.”
What exactly are we funding in “oversight”?
This isn’t about politics. It’s about stewardship of taxpayer dollars and protecting programs for the truly vulnerable—not turning them into an unchecked ATM.
Fellow Buckeyes: don’t just complain—act. Contact Governor DeWine’s office and demand answers. Ask the three questions above.
Governor’s contact page: https://governor.ohio.gov/contact
Then contact your state representatives and demand a full audit and public accountability.
If nobody is held accountable, the message is clear:
Fraud pays.
Taxpayers lose.
Government shrugs.
Ohio deserves better.
